The Domestic Experience

VTworld

Can't make the trip to Mexico, but still interested in a rewarding, fulfilling cultural experience? You can join the Global Citizen Partnership right here in your own community! Traveling is only one part of the program. We still need plenty of Ambassadors at Virginia Tech to welcome our exchange students. Plan to stay in Blacksburg for the summer session I and take advantage of many unique benefits being offered by the university.

  • Serve as an ambassador for our university while attending class with exchange students from the Tec de Monterrey in Mexico.

  • Share your culture with students from another country and, in turn, have their culture shared with you.

  • Earn college credits for assisting your community.

  • Partner with the exchange students to serve refugee and immigrant families living in Roanoke as a part of the Pilot Street Project.

Interested? The process is simple! Just register for the summer I session and enroll in IDST 3984 Special Study: Community Development and Volunteerism. It's just that easy to get started! For more information, please see the Course Description and Community Project overviews.
